• [Mana] Now, when an enemy has an elemental property, it will be able to resist that element, but will be susceptible to others. That's why knowing elemental properties is so important to us.

• [Mana] Listen carefully to these elemental relationships. ^FF0000Fire^000000 is strong against Earth, but is weak against Water. ^5C4033Earth^000000 is strong against Wind, but is weak against Fire.

  • [Mana] Monsters with the ^ff0000Fire^000000 property tend to have strong attacks. Since we Mages are physically weaker, even slight hits from these monsters can be extremely damaging to us.

  • [Mana] So if we have to fight monsters with the ^FF0000Fire^000000 property on our own, we can use Frost Diver to freeze them in their tracks.

  • [Mana] But if we use Fire property skills on Fire monsters, we'd do little to no damage and that's not good.

  • [Mana] For reference, our Fire property skills are Sight, Fire Bolt, Fire Ball and Fire Wall. Ooh, let me tell you a little more about Fire Wall.

  • [Mana] Fire Wall is very distinctive in that it can be used up to 3 times on one screen. Any monsters that run into it will get damaged, then move away in the opposite direction.

  • [Mana] But if an Undead monster runs into a Fire Wall, it's only slightly injured and the Fire Wall won't necessarily block its approach. So beware!

• I know that the concept of properties might be confusing now, but over time you'll get the hang of it. Now it's time to talk about magic skills in depth~

• [Mana] Now, the most basic magic attack spells are Fire Bolt, Cold Bolt, Lightning Bolt and Napalm Beat. Learning these enables Mages to learn their more advanced skills.

• [Mana] Increasing the levels of these skills not only opens access to other spells, but the damage of those basic attack skills is also increased.

• [Mana] Other skills that are basic to the Mage class are Sight, Stone Curse and Increase SP Recovery. They're not really attack spells, but are useful in certain situations.

• [Mana] Sight is used to reveal enemies that are hiding. Keep in mind that this skill's range doesn't go too far.

• [Mana] Stone Curse has the chance to curse a target, temporarily immobilizing it and making it ^5C4033Earth^000000 property. However, each attempt to cast Stone Curse requires 1 Red Gemstone.

• [Mana] Increase SP Recovery is a passive skill which helps you recover more SP while sitting down to rest. It doesn't directly affect battle, but having more SP is always better.

• [Mana] Well, I feel like I've explained the basic spells enough. Now, before I talk about our advanced skills, there's an assignment I want you to complete for training.

• [Mana] If you head west from here, you'll find a big bridge bridge where you can encounter these monsters called Pupa. Pupa don't move and can't attack to save their lives.

• [Mana] Hunt these Pupa until you've collected 10 Chrysalis from them. Then bring them to me, okay?
