Game Guide
New to Ragnarok Online, or just need a refresher? Here is everything to get you started.
Getting Started
- Register an account on this control panel, then log in to the browser client with the same credentials.
- Create your first character: pick a name, appearance and starting stats.
- You will start in a novice town - talk to NPCs (right-click or click, depending on your settings) to learn the basics.
- Once you reach job level 10 as a Novice, visit a job NPC to change into your first class.
Controls Basics
- Left-click to move, click on a monster to attack it, click on an NPC to talk to it.
- Use the shortcut bar at the bottom of the screen to place skills and items for quick access.
- Open your inventory, equipment, skill tree and stats window from the icons at the bottom of the screen.
- The mini-map (top right) helps you navigate - click on it to move quickly around the visible area.
Classes and Jobs
- Every character starts as a Novice, then advances into a 1st job class (Swordsman, Mage, Archer, Acolyte, Merchant, Thief).
- Each 1st job branches into further advanced classes as you level up and complete job change quests.
- Pick a class that matches your preferred playstyle - melee, magic, ranged, support, or a mix.
- You can check full class trees and skills from the Item and Monster databases on this site for reference.
Leveling Up
- Gain Base EXP and Job EXP by defeating monsters and completing quests.
- Current server rates (EXP, drops) are always shown live on the home page.
- Grouping with other players can speed up leveling and make tough monsters manageable.
- Watch your HP and use Fly Wings or Butterfly Wings to escape dangerous situations.
Quests
- Quests give experience, items and sometimes access to new areas or classes.
- Track your active quests from the Quest Information window in the game client.
- You can also browse all available quests on this control panel under the Quests section.
Trading and Economy
- Trade directly with other players, or set up a vending shop to sell items while away from keyboard.
- Check current item stats and values using the Item Database on this site before trading.
- Be cautious with trades - always double-check what you are giving and receiving before confirming.
